ACCURATE DEVELOPMENT APPROACH™

The Accurate Development Approach™, one of the pillars of my methodology, involves identifying precisely defined competency gaps before investing in development.

This approach is based on a cataloged set of universal business and social competencies from the Leadership Effectiveness Map™ and Sales Process Map™. 

While typically applied in key management or commercial communication processes, this methodology can also be successfully used for other types of skills, such as cross-team collaboration or personal effectiveness.

 

Below is an example of how the Accurate Development Approach™ can be applied in a leadership competency development program.

The process of assessing and selecting competencies for the development program is carried out using three key tools: 

1. Self-assessment of competencies based on standardized description cards from the Leadership Effectiveness Map™ and Sales Process Map™. 

2. Competency interviews using description cards from the Leadership Effectiveness Map™ and Sales Process Map™.

3. On-the-job observation for competency application in a “live assessment” mode.

Based on the information collected through these methods, development programs typically focus on 3 to 7 competencies, depending on the scope of the investment and the planned timeline for evaluating development outcomes.
